Beef Broth PDF Print E-mail

This broth is hearty and filling for the whole family.

Ingredients

* 1 lb. chuck of beef
* 1 marrow bone
* 1 sponge bone
* 3 qts. water
* 3 stalks celery
* 1 sm. onion
* 2 carrots
* 3 fresh tomatoes, cut into pieces
* 1 tsp. salt

Directions

Place meat and bones in cold water and bring to a boil. Remove scum that forms on top of water. Add celery, onion, carrots and tomatoes. Cover pan and cook for 1 1/4 hours. Remove meat and use as desired. Strain broth. This makes about 2 qts. beef broth.
