Pizzaiola Sauce PDF Print E-mail

Use this sauce on steak.

Ingredients

* 2 lg. garlic cloves, finely chopped
* 1/4 C. olive oil
* pinch crushed red pepper
* 1 28-oz. can Italian peeled tomatoes with their juice, chopped
* 1 tsp. dried oregano, crumbled
* salt

Directions

In a large skillet, cook the garlic in the oil over medium heat until golden, 2 minutes. Stir in red pepper. Add the tomatoes, oregano and salt to taste. Bring the sauce to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes until the sauce is thickened. Serve hot.

Yield 2 1/2 C.
