My husband eats so much turkey that I got tired of serving it in a sandwich. It was a big hit. It is a healthy and wholesome meal. Serve with salad.
Ingredients
* 1 lb. whole wheat pizza dough * 1 lb. sliced deli turkey * 8 oz. shredded low or no fat cheese * Spicy mustard (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and put pizza stone in oven. Cut dough into 4 equal pieces. Using rolling pin or hands, make each piece into a circle. Dividing turkey and cheese in four, place turkey and cheese and a drizzle mustard if using on one side of the dough, folding over other half to create half moon shape. Close up dough using fork. Pierce top of calzone with knife slightly to let out steam.
Place on preheated pizza stone and bake about 10 minutes. Raise heat to 425 and cook until dough is golden on top and bottom. Be sure not to burn dough. Remove to serving platter and let rest 3-5 minutes before cutting open.
