Best Lasagna PDF Print E-mail

Straight from the old country!

Ingredients

* 1 lb. lasagna noodles
* 1/2 lb. ground beef
* 1/2 lb. ground pork
* 2 Tbs. olive oil
* 1 med. onion, minced
* 1 garlic clove
* 1 tsp. minced parsley
* 1 1/2 cans tomato paste
* 2 C. water
* 1/2 tsp. salt
* 1/2 tsp. pepper
* 5 qts. water
* 3 tsp. salt
* 1 lb. mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
* 3/4 lb. ricotta
* 2 Tbs. grated roman cheese

Directions

Brown beef and pork in saucepan with oil, onion, garlic and parsley. Add tomato paste, 2 C. water, salt and pepper and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Bring 5 qts. water to boil, add salt and lasagna and cook 15 minutes or until tender. Arrange lasang in casserole in layers, alternating with layers of sauce, mozzarella and ricotta, until lasagna is all used. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Serve.
